This project I did in first year, but is still one of my favorites. We had to choose a memory and illustrate it in a book using only type and no images. The memory I chose is of a news day morning where I was woken up by two friends who decided to wrap me up in cellotape inside my sleeping bag.
I used creative writing techniques to jumble up the sentences and to communicate the sense of being half asleep and disorientated. I inkjet printed the words on the calico fabric and made an approx 2m length which is then rolled up to again communicate the sense of being wrapped up.
